The individual is required to lead and manage the Food & Beverage operations of the property, including all outlets, room service, banquets and events. The individual should develop departmental goals and strategies to meet the original goals, while training and developing the staff to ensure service levels are maintained as per the brand values and expectations. He/she is required to think innovatively, and develop new products and services to constantly meet or exceed the customer expectations to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and return on investments.

Food & Beverage Manager

Location: Jetwing Lighthouse, Galle

Education and Experience:
A Professional Qualification in Hotel Management from a reputed Hotel Management Institute, specializing in F&B Services, within 2 - 5 years of experience in similar capacity

The Candidate should be Able to:

  • Developing and Execute Food & Beverage Strategy and Goals
    • Develop operating strategy, aligned with the brand and property's strategy and goals
  • Lead Food & Beverage Teams
    • Ensure that regular, on-going communication occurs in all areas of food & beverage
    • Provide feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviours and gather employee feedback to identify and address problems or concerns in a timely manner
  • Maximize Food & Beverage Revenue through Existing and New Products & Services
    • Review financial statements to determine performance against budget
    • Ensure cash control policies are in place and followed by all employees, and identify areas of improvement to minimize costs of all Food & Beverage areas
    • Design and implement innovative dining experiences that provider high customer satisfaction
  • Ensure Exceptional Customer Service is delivered in all Operational Areas
    • Create an atmosphere in all Food & Beverage areas that meets or exceeds guest expectations, and strive to improve service performance of all employees
    • Review comments, reviews, and other data to identify areas of improvement
  • Manage and Conduct Human Resource Activities within the Department
    • Ensure policies and procedures are administered fairly and consistently 
    • Conduct performance appraisals
    • Assist the hiring process of Food & Beverage team members and ensure new recruits participate in the orientation program
  • Identify Departmental Training Needs, Develop and Implement Training Programs
    • Identify areas of improvement and training needs through observance and feedback mechanisms
    • Develop monthly training plans and ensure employees receive on-going training
