Senior Manager – Legal
Job Profile:
- Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements.
- Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage external lawyers.
- Ensure protection of rights of the Bank under all situations.
- Providing legal advice and guidance on all legal matters especially to the Board and the senior management.
- Ensure compliance of laws and regulations for all operations of the Bank.
- Controlling, managing and directing the activities of the Legal function.
- Handling and attending all legal matters of the Bank.
- Negotiating contracts for the Bank.
- Provide leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of staff and resource in the Legal Department.
Candidate Profile:
- Attorney-at-Law with MBA / LLM from a recognized university / institution with 8 years of post-qualifying experience preferably in a Bank or Financial Institution.
- OR
- Attorney-at-Law from a recognized university / institution with 10 years of post-qualifying experience preferably in a Bank or Financial Institution.
- Notarial Public having license to practice in Sinhala / Tamil and English.
- Strong communication skills in Sinhala / Tamil and English.
- Good team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to lead the staff.
