Service Desk Assistant - IT

This position includes but is not limited to the following: You will provide the first response in answering open incidents and assistance with troubleshooting IT service requests from all staff. Requires excellent customer service skills, and a generalist IT ability with excellent deductive reasoning and troubleshooting ability.

The Job:

  • To provide first line support to all customers, assisting them with hardware, software, network and communications difficulties via phone and email.
  • To ensure all support calls and service requests are logged and administered using the Service desk software and working to agreed Service Level Agreement.
  • To ensure support calls are escalated to the appropriate member of the internal/external team, using the agreed escalation procedures.
  • To provide user support to staff in remote offices.
  • To generate analytic reports relating ICT services and procedures
  • Adhere to good telephone etiquettes by being polite and promptly obtaining the messages.

Eligibility:

  • To be successful in this role you would need to satisfy the following criteria:
  • Minimum of 3 passes in G.C.E. A/L with a IT qualification (Diploma on IT would be an added advantage)
  • Basic IT skills, knowledge over digital media/ Devices & mobile Apps
  • Good command in English and Sinhala languages. (Tamil will be an added advantage)
  • Experience in similar capacity would be an distinct advantage.
  • Customer service mindset and an outgoing personality.
