Galle Face Hotel has commenced a major restoration program to return Sri Lanka's most iconic property to the position ofSii Lanka's premier deluxe hotel to coincide with its 150th anniversary in 2014. Work is already underway restoring rooms & suites, banqueting and meeting rooms, restaurants & bars to the highest standard while retaining authentically to location and history. The Galle Face Hotel is looking for a bright, talented individual to join the hotel as:

Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the procurement of commodities through the development and implementation of commodity strategies plans and the management of supplier relationship. Other areas of responsibility include price negotiation, planning, production, inventory control, and quality control.
• Responsible for managing buyers' performance and development: joining trade organizations: and establishing clear communication and feedback systems with customers and suppliers.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
• Male, not more than 50 years old
• Candidate must possess at least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field
• Candidate must possess excellent communication and presentation skills
• Candidate must be knowledgeable in Commodity Management as well as new Purchasing practices and procedures
• Candidate must be highly analytical and must be aware of different industry trends
• Candidate must possess leadership qualities, negotiating skills, as well as decision making skills
• Preferably Assistant Manager / Managers specializing in Purchasing/Inventory/Material or equivalent. Job role in Purchasing or equivalent
