Assistant Accountant

Job Profile:

  • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements and Quarterly Financial Statements for corporate reporting
  • Handling of Annual Audit and coordinate with external Auditors
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Handling of taxation and coordinate with Tax Authorities (Income Tax, VAT, NBT, Different Tax etc)
  • Maintaining the General Ledger and reconciling ledger accounts
  • Preparation of Import Costing
  • Preparation and maintaining of Fixed Asset Registers
  • Preparation of management reports as per the requests of Management
  • Opening and handling of Letter of Credits (LC) for imports
  • Overlook other accounting activities such as Receivables, Payables, Bank reconciliation

Personal & Skills Profile:

  • Should have completed strategic Level I of CA Sri Lanka or equivalent
  • 2 Years' work experience in a similar capacity in the mercantile industry together with 2 years audit experience
  • Should be 22-30 years of age
  • Good command of English language
  • Knowledge in IT 
  • University Degree in Accountancy
