Senior Internal Audit Assistant

Job Profile:

• Be involved in operational audits of assigned Branches and / or departments or any other business units
• Evaluate and ensure risks are assessed and controlled and comply with policies, procedures and regulations
• Draft / compile audit comments with implications and recommendations for corrective action and qualitative improvements. Provide with respective additions / amendments to the audit programmes
• Carryout support work such as voucher bundles, mandates and report checks with regard to Branch audits systematically and adequately and release comments within agreed deadlines
• Help in internal investigations to gather data and fact findings / analysis of the data gathered and submit comments to the Manager / Team Leader
• Carryout routine checks that have been assigned and keep updated records on findings and inform the same to Managers
• Carryout special assignments in relation to continuous auditing which involves data analysis

Special Skills:

• Knowledge of banking operations
• Good reporting writing skills
• Operational knowledge of various retail and commercial banking products / procedures
• Be up to date on current trends / changes in the banking arena
• IT savvy
• Good analytical skills

Prerequisites:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a Bank / Financial institute
• A part qualification in Banking (Completion of four subjects at CBF Level) or CIM / CIMA (Completion of 1st Stage) or completion of 1 year of a 3 year Degree Programme
• An IT related qualification would be an added advantage
